Can anyone tell me if there are existing footwell light sockets in ED XR6, if so...where? ive had a look when i replaced my glovebox surround but couldnt find them.

I am pretty sure that only the fairmonts in the ED had footwell lights.
If my ED XR6 has them, they have never worked in 5 years.

I don't think you have the sockets, but you should have the holes for fitting the sockets.
They are round with two notches on either side, one under the left of the glovebox, one directly under the fuse box. When you find them, you'll know what they are.
Wiring up the footwell lights is extremely easy.
You can use the sockets from number plate globes, that's what i used.
There is a quick tutorial on fordmods.com under "Simple modifications"
That'll tell you where to wire them up.
