Hey
My EF's rear both windows are both playing up. They will make a very distinct grinding sound (like there is sand or mud in the windows) when i put them up or down. Most of the time they will get stuck and need help pulling back up?

can anyone point me into the right direction of first whats wrong with them? and also how to fix them..... approx price?

thanks, any help much appreciated

as mentioned in another thread.....by Slabz......see below....and yes I run electric windows etc as well.

dunno if it's a good thing, but I also smeared a little axle grease over everything that moves in the doors of my ute and they are like brand new to open and close...and have been that way for the last 6 months

grab a rag put some clear tyre silicone on it and then work it into the felts where the windows slide up and down this will make it easy for them, its common on ef/el/au's as they use a tight seal to keep out nosie etc.

Also crunching is typically cable drive dieing and warning you its time to buy new units.

ford usually greases window runners/rails at service time but moset e series never make it to ford now.

Deffinately try some silicone spray, stops the motors stressing so much.
Mine were struggling for a while (just after i installed them) and silicone spray fixed it up instantly.
