ef fairmont heater/air-co temp problem . blend-door ?

I have a problem in the temp control area , its all over the place . Already replaced the thermostat , checked heater tap operation and coolant flow . Also enlisted a FORD mechanics opinion . He said that he would grab the diagnostic codes from work and run the test . He ran the test but didnt come up with anything . Although he did say that the blend door was very noisey and suggested further investigation , thats when I fitted the thermostat . My question is has anyone been able to repair their blend door ??

unless you disassembled the heater box and installed the thermostat properly the capillary on the thermostat will more than likely be fouling the blendore.

dont take any notice of that last reply hotelcharlie i thought your car was a xf not a ef, on the ef i would check the recirc flap ander the passenger side of the dashboard, the lever that opperates this usualy breaks off and leaves it in the fresh position. the quickest way to check this is to turn the fans on boost and change from max a/c to normal a/c and you should hear a change in fan noise. if this is the case the quick fix is to screw the flap shut in the recirc poisition until you get around to pulling the dash out. check your heater tap again because it may be working mechanicaly but still letting water through, check this by seeing if the heater hoses are hot at the firewall.

hope this helps.
