EF Headlight Cleaning?

Is it at all possible to clean the inside of my dirty EF Falcon Headlights? I've asked around and the word is I need to get the revised EF headlights that don't go all murky inside. New Oak Ford have told me it'll cost $500 with trade-in for a pair! So, can I clean them or do I need new headlights? And does $500 sound about right?

Cheers, Matt

Re: EF Headlight Cleaning?

If you are talking about the yellow/faded/crappy look they get it is on the outside not inside. You can clean it up pretty easy. I sanded mine back with some fine sand paper, then used some cut and polish on the surface and it came up perfect. Just tape up the bonnet and bumper with a couple of layers of duct tape first. It is really easy, costs about 20 bucks, and takes about an hour.

Re: EF Headlight Cleaning?

They sound like good alternatives! But I'm convinced my gunk and muck is on the inside, and I kinda don't want to be sanding my headlights back, although it might be effective.

Re: EF Headlight Cleaning?

Post up some pics of the lights, someone might be able to confirm if it's the inside or outside. :s5

Re: EF Headlight Cleaning?

my guess is it's both! outside and inside. I helped Kenaz sand his back and polish them.. didn't come up too bad, no more yellow.
