A mate had his EF xr6 stoln and his tickford bodykit and Dash (instrument cluster) were removed. His insurance company has screwed him over so now he is geting the car back without ant compensation.
He has been quoted $600 for the dash cluster. Does this sound right? Can he get one cheaper??
Also how much would a tickford body kit set him back these days??

He may want to shop around and get an aftermarket dash cluster!

Not sure if the shop at www.autospeed.com had any, but may be worth a look

Man insurance companies peeve me!
That's too much for a dash though.
They often go for around $200-300 for on e-bay (might get his original one back off there). Don't expect the EPROM to have a friendly odometer reading, maybe a new one would have 0 km?

Damn those b@$t@rd$!

I saw a body kit in Auto Trader for $200. There are also a couple of Auto salvage places that sell kits for cheap.

$600 sounds right for the cluster.

The Fairmont, Fairmont Ghia Clusters are exactly the same, so you can fit one of those.

Also, try your hardest to get a Low Kilometer Cluster.

The reason being is that It Costs around $300-$400 to get the EEPROM reset, then wound up.
(Its much cheaper to simply wind up a cluster, than to wind back one).

Finally, everyone here is right in saying that Cluster can be found for around $200-$350, depending on condition, and what has been done to em !

wrecker here was trying to sell me a x-chaser xr dash brand spankers for $300 , but that was about 3 years ago. he may still have some left?
