EL Fairmont showing me spanners

Guys, the EL is showing me the little spanner thing in the dash.....i vaguely remember reading its telling me it needs a service or something.

How do I turn it off ???

Also on a unrelated matter, this thing is claimed to have 157kw i thing, the XR6 and Fairmont Ghia (i got a Fairmont) have 162....would there really be that much difference? I understand the diffs are different, just deciding on whether to perform my mods on this motor or start with a XR6 donk. And does anyone know the diff ratio on a 97 Fairmont non LSD??

New machine eh?. congrats. The service spanner indicator is turned off by turning on ign and holding the odo button down till it beeps, 10 secs or so.

the diff would have to be about a 3.23 or something.
ghia's got a 3.45 i think?
gli's had a 3.08, so yeah.

i'd probably mod the current 6, it all comes down to the amount u plan to do though :)

The Tickford enhanced I6's had some head work and a better exhaust from memory. Not that sure though, just something I heard.

Yeah, better head, exhaust, diff, computer was programmed different..

I know exactly what things were different, just asking opinions on whether it was better to start with the Tickford donk or not.....

Will prolly just go with the stock donk.
