Hi Guys and Gals
I was wondering if anyone knows how to restore the red stripe that runs down the doors on the EL's they are the big rubber trims. As I have tried just about everything from silicon spray to cutting paste. But they all seem to go dull after a couple of days. Can anyone help. This is on my dads xr8

I have tried nearly every polish wax & other things but with no result & would only last a few days.
They are not painted the red is the colour of the plastic polyurethane.
In the end being a spray painter I took mine off & painted them blue.

My red stripes were bit faded looking when I got my XR6, Armour All brought them up 100% like new!

Try Yuck Off, works well on rubber.

I use Armor All protectant every 2nd or so week and my stripes are in excellent condition,
i think if there not looked after in there early stages of there life then they would eventually fade.
You can try every polish,wax,oil and protectant you can find and get it looking a bit better
but in the end there is no bringing whats already deteriorated...

Have you looked into getting new ones.

while Armor all makes it look nice now doesn't it cause long term damage, like cracks and splitting? everyone has a different to say about this product.
