I couldnt beleive it, entering the freeway today, i raised the drivers window up fully, and 3 quarters up the door decided to unlatch and open.

The door was definatly closed properly before hand, as it would of shown up on the dash.

IS this a freak happening?

how could this of happend?? I cant get it to do it again, and it certainly has never done it before...

Any freaky stuff like that is usually caused by a faulty earth in sytem somewhere. Finding it is another problem. Specially if it is an intermittant fault.

Pull the door trim off and make sure there is nothing in the way of the window travel. It may have got caught on something. They normally catch on wires at the bottom of the door...

Topghia is correct, and the place where the problem often can exist is in the "B" pillar, as the wiring runs through there and there are some connectors there that corrode. Water runs down through there from the roof.

I think in your case of the door opening it's not caused my an earch connection as the door has to be physically moved. What Jase said sounds right, looks like the rear window mechanism is getting caught in the door handle or door wire that operates the door latch.

Yea, I didn't read the post properly. If the door physically opened, something mechanical must have caused it. Strange one though.
