Electric window winders

Help! My drivers side window is sooooo sluggish to go up. The only way to ease the winder's suffering is to take one hand off the wheel and tilt the window back (making it go up a bit faster) i have an automatic window close on my alarm that is now useless because the time it takes for the window to go up, the alarm is armed and goes off (when voltage drop/spike is detected).

Any advice on how to fix this?

(this is my first post and not my last)

Welcome aboard

I solved this problem in my car with a reconditioned motor/regulator assembly for about $80 from a wrecker.

Welcome to the nuthouse.

Try a bit of silicone spray in the window channel, takes the strain off the motor.

Ford have got some special stuff but I can't remember the name of it.

This may or may not help, but it's an easy first step.

cheers

Yeah, i have the problem mainly with the passenger side one.
Simple fix (but expensive...) Get yourself a girlfriend who knows when you put the window up she has to pull it backwards a bit. Once trained, it works every time
I was going to replace the window rubber/felt channels on all doors until I found out you can only get the moulded ones from FORD themselves and it was a cost of $60 per door! I will do something one day.....

gf doesn't drive my car (phew!) i took off the door skin a while back and i couldn't see too much except it looked like the window is sitting in a track. It seemed like the window is quite loose in this track. i don't know a way to tighten this. Any ideas anyone?
I tried graphite powder in the channels u mentioned SilverEA and it helped for about a week. Still not a good solution to this problem. My dad also has an EA with the same problem.

There has to be a cheap way out of this.....

Hehehe. I spose that could be a bit hard if its your drivers door window! But it does work for the passenger one! I have heard of some sort of spray you can get like topghia said, but I haven't tried this yet and once i get some money saved i think I'll just fork out fo the dosh and get some new channels from ford....
