Headlight Help Needed

I have an 89 Grand Marquis that keeps having problems with headlight switches. I have replaced it 3 times since getting the car in August of '04. The problem I am having is that they work fine for a while then like tonight, I went to put the lights on and in the first position I get no lights at all, second position only the headlights come on. If I back the switch in as if turning off the lights, I will get everything to work. Two of the switches I had put in came from the parts store and the one that gave out tonight came from the dealership. This car is also equipped with Auto Lights. Anybody have a clue as to what is going on? I'm totally baffled at this point.

Re: Headlight Help Needed

Does the car have headlight relays?
They are a good idea to take the load off the switch and extend it's life...
