I was just wondering if any one new if it is possible to gat the headlights in my sons xf rechromed??

apart from the XF the ea/eb/ed pull apart as well, so is it possible ;0)

I rang a electroplater and he said because they are plastic he can not do them

i remember reading in street machine once that almost anything can be chromed, including plastic.

I tried respraying mine using a chrome paint, but it came out matt rather than shiny.

It can be done, but it would be a lot more stuffing around than buying new headlights. Better yet, go to a good wrecker and pick out headlights which look reasonably new.
