headlights goin nuts!

it may be a common problem, but for ages now when i have my headlights on high beam for more than 5mins they start to blink on-and-off at a fast rate...its annoying!! my cars an EF fairmont..1995.. can anyone help??

Sounds like the thermal circuit breaker is cutting in and out. Check the connections to this item, as well as the relay itself. Also check the socket at the bulb and make sure there is no corrosion between the pins. If this doesn't fix it, consider replacing the breaker.
