Ah yeh so my heater was leaking inside the old **** and I decided to rip out the dash and drop the heater core out to see if I could repair the hole....
So I'm at the bit where the only thing holding the dash in is the Hand Brake mount and a heap of wires and vacumn cords...
And I've un-done all the nuts under the bonnet on the firewall...
AND the heater won't pull out??
Any ideas on what I may have missed would be greatly appreciated. :hy:
You have taken off the heater hoses going to the water pump :hehe: ? There'a a few tricky tubes and ducts stuck to gether which makes it awkward. Make sure you haven't missed a small nut or something on the engine bay firewall.
All I have is flashbacks from that awful job! PS: I got it out but never refitted it!!
Are you sure its radiator coolant/water and not rain water from a rusted dash underneath?
Hah! They look like a bomb went off when you pull every thing out.
I'm sure I've got all the nuts and bolts off but the dash frame appears to be stuck where the handbrake comes up.
When looking at your picture I see the handbrake is still in it's place.
I guess I'll keep trying different angles and see how we go...
Cheers, G. :1read: Spose I could check my Eski Manual if it's similar...

Yes, the handbrake handle is held in place by quite a few bolts.
There's a metal bracket that goes from the handbrake handle to the top of the trans tunnel. You can just see the black metal behind all the wire looms in the pic.
You can undo the bolts at the handle or there are 2 bolts fixing it to the trans tunnel........you'll have to pull your centre console and there'll be some vent ducting in the way. See if you can get around behind it and undo them by feel if you can't see them.
