Hey Guys,

I am currently trying to wire up a EAII (1990) trip computer in to my EAI (1988). I have found that some of the instructions I have got from the fordmods site aren't right or are for the EAI connector.

I have wired up the earths, constant +ve, fuel sender and dash lighting pins so far and according to the details at the fordmods site I have the

-Injector pulse
-Accessory +ve
-Dimmer signal
-Speedometer signal wires left.

On the connector, the following wires are left :

-White
-Solid white with white stripe
-Solid red with black stripe
-Solid black with white stripe
-Solid green with yellow stripe

Can anyone tell me what each of those are for? It's a 1990 connector and from what I understand, EAI (1988) and EAII (1990) connectors are different.

the info I have ...

The EA, EB, ED all should be identical (according to my Ford manual).

-White = Speedo
-Solid white with white stripe = ?? you have good eyesight !
-Solid red with black stripe = Ignition cct.
-Solid black with white stripe = to instument LCD dimmer signal.
-Solid green with yellow stripe = Fuel Injection signal feed from EEC unit.

Others:-
57 - Black - to chassis wire instrument return
139 - Green/Yellow - Fuel Injection
88 - Black/White - LCD Dimmer
38 - Yellow/Black - Battery
29 - Yellow/Green - Fuel Sender
57A - Black - chassis
999 - White - Speedo sender
30 - Red/Black - Ignition
14 - Brown - Parklamps
183 - White/Black - Buzzer input

Also, is your car equipped with an LCD dash ? If not I can send you a mod which will get the TripComp backlight working properly.

TBH: (the better half) drives an ED XR6 wagon (Mock Dev 4 160rwkw, JMM extractors, 4 electric windows, Ghia door panels in XR trim, rear head & arm rests in XR trim, Momo s/wheel with Cruise, EL thermos, EBGT wheels, etc) things to come soon = EECV upgrade.

I have only 2 wires left though. The Injector PWM one and the speedo sensor one. The speedo wire on mine is white, and the pin I have been told to put it to on the instt. cluster is supposed to be red but it isn't. It's another colour. Is it the speedo sensor wire or is it different?
