Re: high beams dont work

Could be the High Beam Relay...

With the car parked and the engine off...pop the hood and reach through the drivers window and turn on your lights...then activate the high beams and listen for the "click"...if you dont hear any clicking coming from the relays near the battery then its most likely dead...

I dont remember off hand which relay it is exactly but its there :-)

Not exactly sure off the top of my head. I can find out exactly which one it is tonight and let you know tommorrow. But that's all I can do.

Re: high beams dont work

Had a look last night and it could be 1 of 2 things. Check the fuses behind the switch panel on the drivers side... could be a blown fuse also.

Now, on the drivers side under the hood are 4 relay's (in my car) two at the front, and two closer to the firewall. on the firewall side of the 2 relays closest to the front of the vehicle is a little box (can't remember what its called, but mine is a little copper colored box with two white square plugs), about half the size of a relay with two plugs coming out of it.... This sounds like your major problem. You may need to replace this part.

Hope this is not too confusing, but I can't remember the things name... let me know how you go anyway.

Re: high beams dont work

First check your fuses under the dash.

Then the circuit breaker near the battery - although this usually results in low beams going out too.

If you are sure both globes are OK then it could also be in the dip switch (indicator lever) or even the headlight switch.

You really need a circuit tester if it is not a fuse, so you can trace the power through the circuit till you find the part where it breaks down - ie the dipper switch or headlight switch.
