I was just wondering if anyone knew approximatly how heavy the Rear bench seat and two front seats are in an EB Fairmont?

You can nearly HALF the weight of the front seats by taking the seat rails off.
Front seats without the rails are approx 16 KGS EACH.
With the bench seat in the back, do you mean just the horizontal part of the seat and not the upper seat backing?

yeah about 30kgs a seat. i reckon the back seat with the bolsters and all would be about 35-40.. so around 100kg in seats. lol :)

now, why do you need this information.. it seems very irrelevant to everything.

The bench itself weighs very little... it's just a lot of foam with a frame and some velour.

I was just wondering....... I would like to put the ol' Fairmont on a bit of a diet......
Wouldnt mind getting her to around 1450kg (1580kg at the moment). Better 0-100kph

I guess you got alloy rims, but if you got steel rims and hubcaps, ditch em for alloy's and get some weight off.

Take the car to a weigh bridge and weigh it, try do it without you in the car, as your weight might fluctuate and muck up your readings when stripping out some weight from the car.

LOL, you bought a fairmont, and want to reduce the weight by taking out all the fairmont bits. why didnt you just get a GLi in the first place

I got a Fairmont because it had 165,000 genuine logbook km's on it, perfect paint for a 12 year old car, alloy wheels with brand new tyres and has absolutely NO rust. all for $3750

Thats why I got a Fairmont............
