motorcarman motorcarman Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Decatur, TX Age: 58 Posts: 5	IDS software with MONGOOSE VCM Hello can anyone tell me if this has been tried? I have IDS software installed on my laptop when I worked at the Dealer and used the dealer VCM to program keys, used datalogger etc. Ford/Motorcraft wants $2500 USD for the VCM, cables and software license. Has anyone tried the Mongoose-plus for Ford Product ID: DT-M-PWMCAN-plus from tunertools.com. The product states it will reflash Fords with a subsription to Ford for $600.00 USD. Is it the same software???? Will the MONGOOSE act a a VCM for the IDS software?? Or are the protocols different?? Does someone have one of these that also works at a FORD dealer and tried to communicate with a vehicle using IDS with a MONGOOSE?? People are selling IDS DVDs (both Ford and Jaguar/Rover) on eBay and the MONGOOSE is $2000.00 cheaper than the VCM. If this works I know ALOT of shops that would spend the money. bob
