does anyone know how to test and ignition coil... I hear arcing under the hood constantly... the wires arc occasionally but even when the wires are not arcing I hear it by the ign. coil...

Replaced rotor and cap, still hear it, can not see arcing at wires. any ideas

take off the high voltage coil wire..... at the dizzy..... and make it spark, you should get lots of sparks....
shove a screw driver, and have it about 2 mm away form an exposed metal section of the car....

or if ur game, u can hold it, and if u get zapped, its working, if not, its not working

Gee, T_Juggalo hasnt got back to the forum for a while. Wonder if its because he's been KILLED BY TOUCHING THE IGNITION COIL HT OUTPUT!!! LOL

If you hear the spark plug leads sparking, get rid of them and put new ones on. Good chance if the cars running ok then the coils good. Open the hood during the night time and if there is any arc-over on the coil, then it will have to be replaced.
