ignition help

someone please help.i have a 2000 ford focus lx basic model no power windows or locks. along with about a million other focus owners i had a problem with my ignition switch not turning. i replaces the key switch, which was fun because i had too drill out the tab to get the cylinder out because it wouldnt turn to the on position. but now with the new key cylinder in the car wont start. i can turn it on and listen to the radio and all the idiot lights light up but when you advance the key forward to the start position nothing happens. could this be the ignition module that the key cylinder operates??? or might i have another problem??? please help its driving me insane

Re: ignition help

That car uses a "PATS" anti-theft system where the module reads the chip in the key. You have to have it programmed at a dealer to work and will need 2 "PATS" keys.
