Indicator Arm in TE Cortina replacement..

My indicator arm in my TE doesn't self cancel. Can I use an indicator arm from an XD, XE or even an XF? The functions seem the same, can this be done?

I don't think it is a bolt in swap. Does it have the stock steering wheel? have you tried WD40?

It does have the stock steering wheel (non ghia), the piece that the cam pushes to cancel the signal is worn, so needs to be replaced.
