There are Interior LED lighting kits available from Jaycar for those who are interested.

Interior lights, footwell lighting, 3rd brake light, tail lights, park lights etc

Various types are available, and you can choose LED's of your choice (colour, brightness etc)

They also have a PCB wedge kit, which may possibly be used for dash lighting.

8psi, mech forums dont seem to be coping well at the moment, so if anyone else has trouble have a look at this instead, its the same thing but from the jaycar site. included with the kits are a pcb (circuit board) and resistors. You have to get LEDs and fittings from a globe seperately. Jaycar Lighting

Won't you need resistors with most, if not all of the LED's that jaycar has?? Does the kits come with resistors, or a provision to put resistors?

Jaycar sales guy said its "just the pcb" so, yes you will need resistors

I doubt you will need resistors to drop the voltage.

Since the LEDs are running in series the 12 Volts will be divided between the X amount of LEDs. IE. if theres 4 LED's then they get 3 volts each :)

I wonder how good they would be for interior lights and stuff, since they produce very directional light. I've heard of people getting fine sandpaper and roughening up the led to diffuse the light a bit more.

yeah my mate bought some there in wedge style with 4 LED's in there, just plug em in they stay on...

He also bought big LED's for his park light's that flash red then blue. Cop's love him

it depends on the type of LEDs you use, and the resistor is more to limit the current (so it doesnt toast the LED). I'm sure it comes with instructions anyways.
