Hi all, just to let some out there know that the dash swap is very possible.
I have just put a EL dash in my EA Spac. Smartlock works and most of the BEM controlled items that I wired work as well.
I used my original EA dash loom and wired it accordingly, quite straight forward realy I was suprised at how much just fitted wiring wise.
So if you think its too hard, give it a go. What a thrill when the engine started first time and all the instruments worked.
Now all I have to do is get the new handbrake fitted and tidy up.

I hope this inspires others to give the bigger mods a go.

I have not finally fitted the dash yet just a few mechanical bits outstanding ie center tunnel bkt and end bracket. Yes I have done the front door trims and fitted electric windows. The rears are waiting to be done hard to get rear window motors in good condition. Also central locking fitted.
I have the center consol but have not tried fitting yet. The carpet will have to be modified I think. I will play with that when I fully finish the dash install. I also have the EL handbrake, I dont think it will be a problem to fit, but the cable arrangement below will I think cause some head scratching. I have put out a thread asking if anyone has done it before. I will put up some pics over the weekend of what I have done so far
