I was poking about in my bay this afternoon and discovered a circular plug with four male pins inside it behind the drivers side headlight. Does anyone know what this is for? Is some thing boring like a diagnostic plug or something cool like a plug for spot lights? It seems to be coming off of the headlight loom, heading back towards the fuses.
Hey, thanks for the suggestions guys. I think I'm going to have to go with Aussiblue's answer. B-1B, I have climate control and a working ambient temperature sensor. I thought that white thing poking out of the dash (about halfway along, at the front) was the ambient temperature sensor. Maybe other models are different to the EBII???
If it makes any difference to anybody the four wires coming out of the plug are Black, Purple with a white stripe and silver diamonds, Green with an orange stripe and Yellow with a green stripe.
The ambient temp sensor is near the front grille, the white thingo on the dash board is the sunlight sensor, so if the sun is shining on it, it will up the temperature at bit. So if you have a dash mat covering it, it won't work
Walki: The compressor for the SLS when fitted (as on my two Fairlanes) sits in the front right hand side in front of the wheel arch. Close to the battery and an empty space.
The Ford manual shows for the EB II the wires going to the SLS compressor as Black, Green/Orange, Yellow/Green and Violet/White. I think that confirms the plug is the SLS compressor plug.
