Need urgent help! about central locking

My mate is selling his EA to the wreakers 2morrow, and I want the central locking out of it, cause he said I could have it for some smokes.

So I need to know, what do I pull out? what is there?
also will It fit into my XF?

Re: Need urgent help! about central locking

I doubt they would fit straight in, but i'm sure with a bit of modification you could make it work.

or you could just spend $30 on a set from jaycar

Re: Need urgent help! about central locking

Forget it, the remote sensor/receiver actually sits behind the instrument binnacle for a start which is what you need to make it truly remote locking via the key fob.

And the locking system is intergrated into the Ford 'smart lock' system which makes it near impossible to retro fit to an older model Falcon.

Re: Need urgent help! about central locking

but you might as well just get a after market kit thay come with a relay kit aswell so alarm hooks up easyer.

if its a after market kit should be noticeable the solinoids and rods (looks like bike spokes) that go up to the unlock button and mayby a relay kit normaly under the dash.

if its factory there better quality than the after market if you still want to grab them and try to modife if you cant get them to fit i swap you some factory xf wons i have around somewear.

Re: Need urgent help! about central locking

If its an aftermarket kit get it but if its not I dont think it will be easy to fit to the XF. The bits that attached to the door locking buttons is wierd, well it was on my ED plus the rest of the wiring stuff will be hard to find.

If its aftermarket just cut out the solenoids and metal thing from the door and trace back the wires to under the dash and take out everything attached noticing where it all attaches to.
Its an Easy job.

Re: Need urgent help! about central locking

Thanks for everyones help! I ended up just buying the EA, so how I have 1 flash XF and 2 EA's, and today I pulled all the central loking and keyless/alarm out, no worries, hooked the wires back up, EA still starts!
looks like It'll be an easy fit to the XF, well Ill make it fit, done everything else myself so far, but Ill let a pro to wire the alarm.
