After reading some info on the forums about the optima batteries i am wondering if it is possible to fit any of the optima red or yellow top batteries into the std tray on an ef - The dimensions i get of the net all seem too big , I know that i will gain a little more space by removing the plastic batt. cooler
I would prefer a yellow top battery if posible because the stereo pulls a few amps
PS: I have also posted this in the Audio Section as well
Thanks
Ash

I have a yellow top deep cycle OPTIMA in the ESP. Works beautifully........ Starts the car up like he's just woken up with a hard on and found Jennifer Hawkins lying beside him !!!!!!!! ( 750 CCA )
I also found the battery a little odd to fit on the standard XE battery tray, but nothing a little friggin around couldn't fix. These batteries are also heavier than standard batteries...........around 2 - 4 kg heavier.
They are well worth investing in.
The other option is to mount the sucker in the boot and get rid of your battery tray altogether.

Just checked mine again and its definitely 750CCA Deep Cycle.
I paid $280 brand new as a special deal from a mate. He also bought one so we got a good combined deal. I imagine that the $500 mark is what they would go for at normal retail outlets for the model I got.
