Hi, i just fitted a mid series HU from an EL into my 1990 EA and it seems to get extreemly hot after turning it on for 1 min. It gets so hot that i cant even touch it! I dont think this is normal.

Further more, when i turn up the music the LCD screen flashes dimmer every time the bass comes on.

I originally thought the HU wasn't getting enough voltage so i wired up a new constant positive from the battery but that didn't help.

What is going on !

Looks like a fire waiting to happen. Is the connection to the battery fused? Check your wiring again.

The constant 12V is directly connected 2 da battery terminals. I neva gave any thought that it might catch on fire, i think i will disconnect my radio now.
