For all of you guys who want todo a dash light LED conversion... I was reading through the latest Narva catalog and found this they now do plug in led wedge globes. 10 mm goes straight in bulb holder that ordinary dash bulbs fit in to
part numbers are..

white 47862bl
blue 47864bl
red 47866bl
green 47868bl

they come in packs of two and the specs they give for them are
kw2.1x9.5d if that makes sense. Not sure what they will be like in terms of beam angle etc but might be worth a look. Here in NZ they are priced at $20 a pack

So how does one combat the issue of resistance with these wedge-style LEDs?

I understand that's the real art in the dash conversion - soldering the resistors in to make up for the low pwr consumption of an LED.

also placement of the leds, i have tried 3 or 4 blue LCD's as in the standard light bulb position, and they just didnt cut it, so I am not convinced they will work as well as people would hope.

On a side note - I tried electroluminescent lighting for my dash on the weekend, and it was ok, but a pain to work with, was not stable, and in the end I fried the little control box for the panel, so if anyone else has tried or has more luck let me know, but I dont think it is a suitable alternative to LED's.

I also stuffed blue LED's, so now trip comp is back to orange :0( , not impressedm, but thats life.
