Police Dash Cluster for EF - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

A Quick question.......

As I was having a browse down at the local wreakers today, I noticed that they had a Police Cluster for sale for $250

It is something I am interested in getting as it comes with tons of useful extra features over what I have now (extra guages, speedo calibiration) , and I know it is pretty rare, but is $250 a reasonable amount to pay or are they asking too much for this cluster???

I would definately pay $250 for that cluster. Apparently they are really sought after and rare, so even finding one is a good thing.

I'd go for it, if I had a EF GLi or XR, it's definately a really good thing. You could probably sell your original EF cluster for $100ish so that would make up for some of the cost.

BTW, how come you have elected not to receive PM? I have been trying to PM you since this morning, no go!

EDIT 2: Ahh.... now that I have read the announcement I know what is going on :-)

ED. i have one on my car.. (look on www4.tpgi.com.au/mij/automotive) .. can see

2km Incriments
Adjustable Speedo (for diff size rims etc)

And other then that, nothing really, the XR / Fairmont Dash is the same, except for those 2 things.

If you have GLi, you will have to change your Oil Switch which will be $40 new from ford, $20 from a wrecker.

I think the Speedo calibriation is a feature worth having for when I change my cars diff...............

But seeing as that is really the only useful addition you get over an XR dash, i wasnt sure if $250 is worth it....

On the subject of dash mods, what is the difficulty level of replacing that Oil Pressure switch with the Oil Pressure Sensor???

very easy infact, do you know where it is?

Basically unscrew/bolt it and just put in another (make sure you get lockthread or gasketsealer for the thread too if u get a second hand one, im not sure if u can use plumbers hose tape maybe too?)

I just updated the pics on that page, so you have a better idea of what the Instrument cluster really looks like (The Pic is no longer fuzzy, and hazy)
Fusion has also got the Ford Part number for the Oil Sender somewhere (cmon, get the little peice of paper outa your car !)
and if we pester him enuf, I am sure he will post it up her for everyone !
