Problem: All windows need help going up or down. Motors seem weak.
I thought I could just take the door panel off and lube the track they glide in. I had a totally different idea of how they work. I started with the rear passenger window. Well I tried lubing it up and running them up and down. Didn't work. I used silicone lube. Then I took the motor out. Took it apart. It was in great condition. So I think the gears are worn out or something. Suggestions welcome. Whenever I rolled them up or down the engine is always running. I guess I could do a voltage test to see if they're getting plenty of power.....
The tracks around the frame might need replacing or lubing. Try some talcum (baby powder) powder 1st - not a long term solution but it will tell you if it is the problem. Just liberally powder the edges of the glass and see what happens. And before some one else says it at worse you'll have powder windows instead of power windows. You could try graphite powder but that's dirty and doesn't smell as nice as talc. Seriously talc is a good dry lubricant.

You could try graphite powder but that's dirty and doesn't smell as nice as talc. Seriously talc is a good dry lubricant.
