Hi Guys
Wondering if , after not buying my XR6 with Premium Sound can I now have it installed ?? I know it will cost more than the xtra $900 I was quoted but after getting Sunroof , Alarm , Tinted Windows etc you seem to run out of money

Please correct me if I'm wrong (anybody...?), but since the premium sound will run off the premium icc (color display), wouldn't you need to have the dash out etc to hook it up to the sound/climate control and other things it's intergrated with? I don't think they'd do it, it'll probably cost too much anyway, but you should ask your ford dealer.

l have already emailed ford about the same thing and the email returned to me was a simple Sorry we cant upgrade to premium sound once the car is built as it is a very complex system

ORSMXR is correct,

Premium sound is fitted as the car is built. If it didnt come with it, you can't get it installed.

Slightly off topic but I`ve heard with the BA`s its very difficult/impossible to install aftermarket stereo gear into one because of this type of problem,anyone know if this is right or not?

Do a search in these and other forums - people have got around it by installing different speakers, amps and using the standard BA unit. That should (hopefully) satisfy your need for better sound. I've heard some systems like that and that's the way to go in my opinion. Sounds great, went a lot better than I would have thought. Almost didn't want to get out of the car!! . For more info I'd pay a visit to a proper car audio place (not JB or Strathfield) and talk to them
