i know all about the problems of wiring up electrics of an EF dash into an EA. But can somone conferm that an EF dash will bolt into an ea. Im not asking about wether it will work, just if it will physicaly bolt in, and if the heater boxes are the same and can work with each other.

I think he is! Maybe he's thinking that because of the ergonomics and the design of it. I don't think that you should crap your dacks over that, unless... you've... already started. Hehe. Nah, think of it this way: If the seats and other things can fit, then why shouldn't the dash?

They were a bit cash-strapped back then and had to find a way to reduce costs and that was the answer.

ive been told the heater box changes from XF through AU were minor. electrically the plugs may not be identical, but they work the same way (barring electronic climate control differences). the mounts etc should still be the same. the newer models apparently have bigger heat exchanges (evap and heater core), but thats all.

considering the EF/L is pretty much an eseries platform with a different front and rear stiched on, I doubt you will have too many dramas with the dash, the only real difference is the handbrake location and the dash is somewhat "rounder" looking than the earlier models, I suggest going to a wrecker, put the dashes side by side and check out the mounting locations, but I suspect everything will be the same
