MR AUII

I am looking at getting a remote start car alarm as a friend has one for sale. Will this work on my AU? You need the electronic coded key to deactivate the immobiliser so not sure if it will work.

I don't think it'll work. It may be possible, but unless you have a degree in electronic engineering it'd be a nightmare I reckon. Aren't remote start alarms illegal anyway? Something to do with the whole safety aspect i.e no driver to make sure the car is in park/neutral with the handbrake on etc.

i thought there was an issue with remote start and the smart lock? i'm sure there is a thread about this somewhere

Im not to sure if it's to hard with smartlock a mate of mine has one in his EF fairmont ghia, he bought it like that though so he wouldnt have a clue about the installation
