Removing Dash

I know I should just buy the Gregory's manual, and i will soon! However I would appreciate it very much for now if someone could tell me exactly how to remove the entire dash from my xf ute. I am half way through changing the entire interior colour and it is time to get the dash out to spray it! Thanks in advance,
Nick

It's a very easy job did it a few weeks ago. Dont foget to ubolt the hand brake from the fire wall so you can get it unhooked from the dash.Other than that everything is straight forward.

I have a Gregory's manual i will sell it to you if you want make an offer.

Winged, you're a lucky dude! My dash (XF Ghia) was a bitch to get back in - getting it out was not too bad.

Couple of bits of advice - make sure you get all the wiring connectors marked - there are two connecting the column to the main loom which can be swapped. This causes smoke! Fortunately, I had a mate at the battery who heard my expletive and cut the power.....only had to replace a wire.

The dash may also be hard to line back up with the screw holes along the top under the windscreen - I found using a scriber or long thin screwdriver helped to line it up.

And make sure you get your hands on a workshop manual - makes the job so much easier!

Have fun!

Cheers

Thanks, I had no problems getting the dash out! It is layed all over the floor of the shed at the moment in its newly sprayed black finish- one more coat and then it will be time to try and get it all back in! Fingers crossed i will not need to ask for anymore help and all goes well!
