removing strip above air bag??

hey guys,

Does anyone know how to remove the strip above the passenger airbag in AU2?? the air bag cover comes off easily enough, just want to get the strip off.

yes! i done it not long ago to paint it. You need to remove the airbag just remove the 4 screws that hold it in and it will slide out(i advise to disconnect battery to be 100% sure airbag doesnt open). There is four nuts underneath the strip under dash you need to take off then the strip just comes off. You will probably need new clips for the airbag cover as they usually break getting it off. Just make sure when you disconnect battery all doors are unlocked. I didnt and my passenger side was locked but window was down and it wasnt easy trying to do it through the window.

Its one of those features good to have if you get stuck doing something after unlocking but its more a pain in the butt than it is good.
