I have a 96 model futura and the light globe that illuminates the tip meter & odometer has blown.Does anybody know how to get to it without breaking stuff.?Also i need a new door seal but ford wants 97$ for it and rare spares dont stock ef body rubbers,where could i get this from for less?Thanks

To replace the globe, you need to take the main fasica off the dash and pull out the instrument cluster. If you know what you're doing, and you do it carefully, you wont break anything (its all boxed up etc). Let me know if you need instructions on how to get it out. Once youve got it out, all you need to do is swap the bulb thats in there with a new one.

$97 for the door seal doesnt sound right, i'm getting one from Ford (its on order) and its costing me $20. Which one are you getting - the one that goes round the door, or the one that is attached to the body of the car?

ok ,thanks for the info on the dash pulling apart,i'll probably do that tomorrow.now about the door seal ,that price is for the front right seal that is attached to the door.

If anyone needs to do this operation on their car heres how it goes
1;pull out the ash tray
2;after you pull out the tray there is a screw on the left in a recess,remove it.the right hand side is held by a plastic push in pin so pull the bottom part of the panel towards you and then up and out remove the plugs for the cig lighter
3;there is three screws holding the main facia behind the ash tray suround,remove them
4;the main facia infront of the stearing wheel has three screws also,remove them
5;there is two push in clips above the clock so lever behind the facia to pull it out then pull out the plugs for the fuel door release, trunk release, door lock, clock & rear defrost
6;four screws hold the instrument panel so remove them and tilt it forward so you can see the globe and just twist it out

still no answer on the body rubbers,any one know where to get them other than ford
