I have a November '98 build AU XR6.
I have recently noticed that the RH front seat belt is cutting in to the front edge of the slot in the pillar trim that it feeds through (I'm fairly short which accentuates the problem). As a consequence, the seat belt is running through a sharp-edged groove, and is noticeably fraying.
My local dealer plans to replace both the belt and the trim, but my concern is that it will happen over and over. It appears to me to be a design fault. I understand that in newer cars there is an adjustable height arrangement that wouldn't have this problem. The LH front trim is also distinctly worn, although not as bad as the RH one (it gets less use). Has anyone else seen this problem? How was it resolved?
