is it possible to adapt smartlock to the EA ghia, just for remote access to doors and boot, none of the security stuff! it already has the locking and boot release just no remote.

Should not be to hard.
You will definitely need the matching Ignition lock.
Wires that will need to be connected are power, accessory power, start wires.
Most of the other inputs and outputs are not an issue.
Optional would be things like boot release, flashing dash light, etc

Looks like the door locks are the same (same wiring and connectors between the EA through to ED).

Only item that may require some playing with is the interior light switch-on signal operating the interior light. This is a signal sent from SmartLock to the Central Control Module function in the ED. It should be able to be interconnected directly to the handle switches but may need to be connected via a relay.

someone mentioned replacing the computer with an eb-smatlock one can this be done what else does it invove?

If its just for keyless entry, why not just put in an aftermarket alarm, or immobiliser.

It will work out cheaper than the smartlock setup...

i would steer away from both the smartlock system as well as the ford central locking... after market central locking is about $30 a pair and are much more reliable.. smartlock is a pain in the &^% and would most likely present a few problems.

im working on importing alarm systems from japan, and selling them at pretty much trade prices, but you should be able to get the basic alarm system for less than $100 through the tradingpost. btw smartlock modules sell for about $300 at the wreckers.
