For some unknown reason, the following elec accs have failed to work in my '91 LTD:
-Dash Lights (including backlights in LCD display and climate control)
-All interior lights
-Radio/tape deck (but lights work when parkers/lights are on)
-Rear demister

But I still have all cigarette lighter, power windows/mirrors/seats, sunroof and warning lights in dash working. Fuses have been tested and are all ok.
On top of that, the exterior lights around the key barrels wont go out when the doors are closed.

Can somebody tell me what the hell's going on??

Some plug come unstuck? Can you trace your interiour light circuit from the fuse box?

Have you installed something recently?

The radio and lights are all still connected, and nothing has been hooked up to the electrical system aside from the phone charger in the front cigarette lighter

That's a possibility, but why would only certain elecs be affected?

another strange thing to note is that the backlight for the trip computer/clock works when the 'clock' button is pressed, but doesn't when the car is switched on. I'm convinced the 'Ellie is haunted now...

Being an LTD it would run the lights of the body control module, check all the fuses again, or you may possibly need another module. The module controls the dimming feature of all the interior lights and also the rear demister. It may also enable the stereo but im not too sure.

The body module shares the dome fuse i think.

Also dont forget to check all fusible links and connections at the battery.
