so i finally fixed my engine mount, as the old one was snapped. got in my car(1989 EA falcon GL auto colum shift) and took it for a drive.. as im on my L's (nsw) and my dad was with me i had to check my speed. guessing i was going about 50-60km/h, i checked anyway to find out that to my shock that the spedo said 0km/h.. now, im pretty sure the other gauges work as i had fuel in the car and it gave its reading etc..
i got this car with the broken engine mount so i never really took it for a drive so i cant remeber if it did or did not work. could anyone help me out on how the speedo works on my EA and how i should approach the "fixing" side of my dilemna.

oh yer ey.. hmm ok.. wat kind of , colour and amperage... cheerz

colour and amperage doesnt matter, just check em all, drivers side, lower right, behind that panel, see how you go.

Does anypart of the dash work at all, any gauges, do the lights come on to illuminate it.

i just went and checked them then.. they r all good besides one of them, it was a red fuse 10 amp and was i think top row 2nd in from the left.. it look as thought quite a bit of heat went thru it..plastic was very warped but fuse not broken-changed it anyway with a 20 amp fuse..but i have no fuel so i cant take it for a drive yet.. the dash dus illuminate..wen i switch the key to accessories, the temp and fuel gauges budge up and back down.. and all the warning lghts that come on, go on so.. it may be a more mechanical failure.. thanx heaps for the help... any other suggestions.. cheerz, oh and also wat fuse (name) is for the dash guages...thanx..

it could be the speedo sensor which i think is located on da left side of the gearbox
