Not too sure about the column, but any box after XY will not fit without major engineering work. The mounting points are different, so the rail has to be opened up and gusseted, and you have to be careful to get the steering geometry right. It has been done before but it will require engineering approval.
A way around this is to use the ram type power steering from XR-XY or ZA-ZD. It does not have as good a feel as the later variable ratio type, but as it was an option, does not require an egineer to approve it.

Hi folks, I was wondering if anyone had ever installed an XW/XY steering column into an XR sedan. I am thinking of fitting a power steering box from a XD-E-F, and the XR column isn't suitable.Any help would be appreciated, Cheers.
