Can someone please help me out, I want to convert my AU ute tail and brake lights to LED.

I have no idea what to do or what to buy so please be very detailed.

Re: Tail light LED's

You can buy LED kits from Jaycar. I've been meaning to do this for ages but haven't yet, so don't have any more info. This image was posted recently and explains a bit about it.

Re: Tail light LED's

I have been looking at doing this to mine, but with the truck type tail lights inside the light assemblies.

Re: Tail light LED's

Anyone know if Jaycar have the LEDs to fit in the dash globe holders?

I'm too stupid to make my own.

Re: Tail light LED's

That's very handy! I was thinking the same thing not long ago after seeing the trucks retrofitted with them.

Re: Tail light LED's

They look good, but the main reason i was looking at the ida, is that i drive with my lights on all the time.
I am sick of changing globes.
LED's last longer.

Re: Tail light LED's

Slightly off topic, I installed white LED parkers in my Laser as an experiment, but they are so blue that it's bordering on rice. The EA rear number plate light uses the same type, and when I put LEDs in there it looked like canary material. In both cases the bulbs were Autotecnica ones from Autobarn.

I've yet to find a way around this but will try the Jaycar kits next. For interest's sake, my LEDs use 0.5-0.7 watts each, compared to 5 watts each for the stock items! By the time you convert all possible globes, you'd be looking at a decent reduction in the drain on the alternator, especially for someone like me who usually drives with parkers on.
