I recently bought a 2nd hand ford escort 1998 finesse 16v.


I did all the usual checks, but one thing i overlooked was to check tail lights operated. Naturally i discovered they dont.

I Have checked the fuses, cleaned the terminals, replaced the globes and still they dont work. I have noticed though that on the right hand side, there is a small glow in the tail light lamps. Yet on the left side they do not light at all.

All the other lights on the cluster work fine, ie reverse, brake, indicator,

Could it be an earthing or a faulty wire going to the tail light causing this? How do i test to see that appropriate voltage is getting to the tail light sockets?
