Hi all.Is it possible to fit a trip computer from a AU dual fuel car to a EF dual fuel car, to get the trip computer to work on LPG?

I doubt it. The dash layout is different. Why not just get one of a ef?? Its like putting an ED trip computer in an XW.

I thought the AU's trip computer was the first one to work with the LPG system. Is this correct or not?

My very good friend has an EF ex chaser with Dual Fuel.
He hasnt run petrol in it for a very long time, so its safe to say he only runs LPG

It originally had the standard clock, but we swapped it for the trip computer.

Thing works perfectly, every single function.
The LPG is aftermarket, not Ford Factory.
The LPG system also DOES NOT Use the standard injectors. (As these are disconnected).

I originally thought that because of the above reasons that it would NOT work, but my good freind proved me wrong !

Can you ask your friend if he connected any wiring to the LPG system, as I have factory gas fitted and the handbook states that the trip computer does not work when running on gas?

Nah, He didnt !
Thats the scary part. The Trip computer is still getting all its signals from the EEC V ???????

The Trip computer is wired as per Standard Ford Factory Wiring.
The only thing I can think of is that even thought the injectors are not used, the Trip computer still makes some adjustments as to the actual Fuel Level, Engine Load, Distance Travelled, Speed, etc, from the standard Ford sensors (All shared with the LPG System).

I dunno much about LPG systems, but he is telling me its not the best aftermarket LPG system you can get, and also he told me that the LPG Computer is not connected at all ?? (Should have improved fuel economy and power if it was).

My advice would be to give it a go.
If you were able to get a Trip computer, and it didnt work, then you could flog it off at the same price you got the thing for.
(No big loss, just an hour or so stuffing around adding the extra wire.)

If you want information on where to connect the wire, let me know !
