Hey Guys,

i was wondering if anyone can help me. Today i took aprt the dash to customise some panels and when i put everything back together and hooked it all up, the allumination on the trip computer wasnt working, u can still faintly see it workin but it not lighting like before.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem??

i'm assuming you've checked you didnt dislodge the bulb when you removed it? if its not that, just check your wiring is plugged in far enough - it might not be connecting properly.Just try gently pressing on the TC (the plastic bit not the screen) in different areas, and see if it makes any difference. If it does it might be a loose wire or the bulb not quite in correctly.

I tried all those things but it still dosnt work, could it be that there is an internal bulb that might need changing?

I actially had a llok at the back of the trip comp there are 2 screw in mini globes and the one on the right behind the writting on the trip only lights up when u put th headlights on, but the one on the left dosent light up at all, Is that the one that lights up the computer constantly? if it is then its probs blown..or are there other lights linked to the trip comp?

Yep, sounds like you need to replace the globe. The one behind the writing only lights up when the dash/instrument lights are on.

Now would be the time to change the colour of your interior lights (away from that orange colour

)!!

(alternatively, just make sure you haven't bumped it loose)

Maybe a stupid question... Kinda new to the E series game.

I've got an EF with a buggered light in the clock. How do you get the climate control and/or clock out of the dash? Are there screws all the way at the back? Or are the simple clips that just need a small dose of Stanley Persuasion to get the out?

Gotta remeber I'm used to 14mm nuts+bols holding in shit like this in the XC.

Just take the front panel off. you don't need to separate the clock to change the bulb.

Yeah i checked it all out, moved the wires around and suddenly the globe went back on, so its all good now
