Hi,

I have an EF falcon that did not have a trip meter on it. I have removed the face plate and it seems to have all the wiring behind it. Is it an easy thing to just buy the trip meter and attach the cable? If so, how much would I be looking at to buy it?

The face plate I am talking about is in the middle of the dash next to the rear wiper/washer switch.

they bolt/plug straight in, I replaced my clock with trip computer, cost me $400 from the dealer, but you could probably get one cheaper at a wrecker

Clocks will be a straight replace. However, if you have a blanking plate (as GLis have) you will need to run two extra wires to the existing plug - one for the comms link and one for the backlight dim signal. The instructions for this should be in the trip computer box (or available from local Ford dealer if you ask nice!) I've done it on my EF and it wasn't a major drama.
