Trouble with starter 67 Galaxie Wagon
Hello all
I have been working on a 1967 Ford Country Sedan 390 2bbl which I acquired recently.I had a clog in the fuel sending unit ,fixed that and now in running into trouble with the starting system. It cranks over very slowly,if at all. I purchased a new battery, battery cables, starter solenoid, and had the starter tested and the test turned out fine. I even had a buddy of mine loosen the distributor and turn it as I was cranking to no avail. I have tried jump starting it and even tried a bigger battery in it and it still has alot of trouble cranking. I removed the spark plugs to see if the carb was getting fuel and at that time it cranked over fine, but once the plugs were reinstalled it just would barely crank. I doubt its the battery cause I swapped batteries with my 97 F250 and both batteries start the F250 just fine. Should I remove the starter and have it tested somewhere else? Where else should I look to try to fix this? Thanks
