vacuum leak with map sensor setup
in a car with a map sensor setup, why would a vacuum leak cause any problems except for a higher idle because the map sensor goes off pressure in the inlet manifold so if there was a vacuum leak the pressure in the inlet manifold would change and the computer would know there was more air coming in.
I understand with an air flow meter setup that if there is a vacuum leak behind it it causes problems but why would a vacuum leak in a car with a map sensor cause a bad idle. I would just think that the car would idle higher because there was more air coming in.
