Have a look at the first 2 pictures... what does that thing do? It has a steel wire connected to it running somewhere, and I had to bend the wire to get access to the resistor pack. I also couldn't remember how the two wires at the back connected up. Does it matter if that wire is bent at all?

Oh yeah, I took a pic to show you how much crap is in the resistor pack hole as well.

Donuts, that's your aircon thermostat - shuts off the compressor when the evaporator core (in the heater box) is cold enough. As it's only a switch, shouldn't matter which way the leads go back on.

As for bending the capillary tube (steel wire - actually copper - it's pretty soft), as long as you didn't fracture it (and I reckon you'd have to bend it a LOT to do that!) it's cool (pardon the pun). They have to be bent anyway to route them into the heater box.
