how much is it for the woodgrain insert from a ef/el fairmont ghia that goes around your gear stick, ive rang arrigant ford and they claim its $428????? if so, they can get *arked.. lol anyone know the actual price, $428 is a tad bit ridiculous.. heres a picture to show u what im talking about, its just the woodgrain peice that had PRDN321 on it where the power button is..

lol you just want that piece and they are charging you?? $430? what a joke! i came accross this site a while ago. but you can buy interior trim sets for your car (ef/el) they dont look as clean as the ones u just posted from that 10 sec XR but here they are:

These sets cost $140 and you get pieces to do your whole dash.. You could get the walnut style and paint them a clear coat to make em a bit glossy. OR you can just buy the part around the AUTO for $40. But its not as dark or glossy as the one above.

Maybe try a wreckers, you could get lucky

$428 ????????. Is it selected timber, hand felled in the wilds of Borneo, lovingly polished by dusky virgins, or is it a bit of plastic?

Anyway that auto surround from burg for $40 sounds more like it. Looks good, the trim sets look the goods too.

hehe - Yep, I was once in your shoes too...thinking of buying the woodgrain gear shifter surround....but I just ended up getting the car around it too lol. If you're going to go the whole hog ie EL/NL ghia spec interior (expensive project IMHO), it may be worthwhile...but ouch - $430 is a total rip! As for wreckers - I reckon you'd have more luck winning the lottery than scoring one of these from a wrecker =\

Not to sound negative, but I reckon I've made close on 40-50 phone calls over the past 12 months or so trying to score such an item hehe. If you do find one though...be sure to buy yourself a lottery ticket too ;-)

iI also scored an amp and subwoofer for $110 from the same place.Keep an eye on the www.tradingpost.com.au online and look for fairmont ghia's .

Or you could use a woodgrain vinyl veneer, the sort you put on cupboards etc., $30 gets you enough to do 3 or 5 cars, looks bloody mint as well.

Just be sure to use a different glue to what's on the back though, as it doesn't take the sun real well otherwise.
