roll XA window washer

I can't get the washer working on my xa gt. Its the preslite one on top of the wiper motor. Question one is - How do they work ? Is it by vaccuum.
Question two is can you get them restored or buy a new one.

Re: XA window washer

g`day nieghbour
good to find another sunny coaster on here.

from memory the washers are driven by a small gear or cam setup that runs off the wiper motor.
they have a rubber diaphram that acts as the pump .

maybe it has perished or split. i dont know how you would go about getting a new one, maybe try Rare Spares.

on my XB i replaced the original washers with an aftermaket washer bottle and electric pump mounted in the boot.

i removed the pump section from the wiper motor and fitted a top plate from an XC to tidy it up.

Re: XA window washer

try buying a second hand XC XD washer bottle with the pump in it they will fit quite ok. OR if your a restoration fanatic. Maybe Rare spares or a second hand wiper motor prob worth about $30, who knows how long that one will last
